Qatar Airways Cargo is continuing the roll out of its capacity on the WebCargo booking platform with the addition of the US.

From July 19, forwarders in the US will be able to conduct e-bookings with access to live rates and available capacity on the WebCargo platform.

Bookings will be able to be made from online points in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.

With the addition of the US, the total count of countries in the airline’s network on the WebCargo platform will increase to 33, with 12 online stations going live in the US.

Qatar Airways chief officer cargo Guillaume Halleux said: “Following our successful launch across Europe, we are glad to introduce WebCargo throughout the US, steadily extending digitalisation across our organisation.

“We are actively pushing for digitalisation in airfreight as it brings in efficiencies and provides multiple benefits for our customers such as 24/7 visibility of price and capacity as well as real time confirmation to name a few.”

In a press release, the airline stated: “Digitalisation is a key pillar of the carrier’s strategy as it moves towards more systems that allow for dynamic pricing, automatic quotations, robotic integration and improved reporting.”

The carrier's US network includes 12 cities with 145 weekly flights and offers more than 4,700 tonnes of cargo capacity per week.
