Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Monika Thielemann-Hald as global head of automotive logistics.
Thielemann-Hald succeeds Martin Wehner, who has now assumed the role of chief commercial officer, Europe.
She worked almost 20 years at Schenker in various management positions in the automotive sector, before moving to Panalpina in 2014, where she established the automotive logistics solutions division.
“We are very pleased to have gained a proven industry expert in Ms. Thielemann-Hald. For Hellmann, the automotive sector is the largest and a strategically very important industry solution. Our goal is to further expand the segment together with Ms. Thielemann-Hald and her international team, even in the current challenging market situation,” said Reiner Heiken, chief executive, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
Thielemann-Hald said: “The automotive industry has always placed particularly high demands on logistics. Especially under the current challenges, securing global transport flows has become a major focus of attention in the automotive sector.
“Therefore, we have to analyse market needs closely and continuously adapt processes in an agile and dynamic way – with regard to intercontinental rail solutions, securing international and national logistics chains in combined transport or CO2-optimised transport flows.”
