Air Canada Cargo has appointed two new sales directors, one joining from a freight forwarder the other an internal promotion.
The airline has promoted Matthieu Casey to the role of senior director, cargo global sales and revenue optimisation from his current position as director, cargo revenue management and business strategy.
Casey will lead Air Canada Cargo’s global sales as well as the business intelligence, network strategy, interline partnerships, pricing and distribution and capacity optimisation teams.
“During his tenure at Air Canada Cargo, Matthieu has held various commercial roles, including managing Air Canada Cargo’s global partnerships programme as well as the Canadian sales organisation,” the carrier said in a press release.
Prior to joining Air Canada, he was responsible for managing business intelligence services at IATA.
Meanwhile, Ivy Chan has been appointed the to the position of director, cargo sales and services, Asia and Pacific.
“Ivy will provide strategic commercial direction and operational oversight for all activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region,” Air Canada said.
Chan joins the airline from Apex Logistics International, where she was vice president. She has also held sales and marketing roles at Qatar Airways Cargo and Cargolux.
“In his expanded role, Matthieu will be responsible for developing and increasing Air Canada’s Cargo revenue, market share and profitability,” said Jason Berry, vice president, Air Canada Cargo.
“With her extensive background, Ivy will be a valuable asset to Air Canada Cargo and our customers in the AsiaPacific region. Both appointments come at an important time for Air Canada Cargo as we look forward the arrival of our first 767 freighters toward the end of this year.”
