JAS Worldwide has swooped on freight forwarder Tigers as it looks to broaden its logistics services.
The Italy-headquartered firm has signed a share purchase agreement with Geopost, the parcel division of French group La Poste, whereby JAS will acquire Tigers once all regulatory approvals are obtained from the relevant authorities.
Tigers operates through 70 offices in 10 countries, including 32 distribution hubs, and has 935 employees.
JAS chief executive Marco Rebuffi said: “Through the acquisition of Tigers, JAS is broadening its range of logistics services, adding omni-channel supply chain management capabilities, supported by advanced digital solutions, to help our omni-channel ramp up their B2C e-commerce operations.
“JAS' and Tigers' teams share the same entrepreneurial spirit which has underpinned the success of both companies and will ensure the continuous development of the enlarged group.”
Olivier Storch, Geopost executive vice president for Asia Pacific and Americas, said: “With its global footprint and vast experience in solving the logistics challenges of its customers, JAS is the ideal partner to bring Tigers to the next step in its successful journey.”
Tigers was created in Hong Kong in 2011 and has a suite of “tech-enabled integrated logistics services”, from “freight forwarding to omni-channel supply chain management, for corporate clients around the globe”, JAS said.
JAS covers more than 90 countries with 335 offices and official agents and has more than 4,000 employees globally.
