Aglow Aviation Support Services, a Nigeria-based aviation consultancy, flight operations and logistics provider, has become a member of Cargo iQ.

The move follows the launch of Aglow Air, a subsidiary of Aglow Aviation Support Services that is dedicated to cargo operations.

Operating as an unscheduled cargo carrier out of Lagos in Nigeria, Aglow Aviation said it is positioning itself to offer “flexibility and first-rate service delivery” to the cargo sector in Nigeria, as well as in West and Central African sub-regions.

The company added that Aglow Aviation is “poised” to meet the increasing need for airfreight across the region with dedicated last-mile cargo flight services.

Henrik Ambak, chair of the Cargo iQ board, and senior vice president of cargo operations worldwide at Emirates, commented: “In joining the growing Cargo iQ community, Aglow Aviation has shown its commitment to our shared vision for cross-stakeholder collaboration and a standardised, quality-driven air cargo supply chain.”

Tayo Ojuri, managing director at Aglow Aviation Support Services, added: “As new entrants into the cargo sector, our decision to be a part of Cargo iQ was based on our desire to benchmark our operations and processes with global best practices from day one.

“Being in a community that includes members representing all players in the cargo value chain is an invaluable opportunity to access data that assists with the continuous measuring, monitoring, and improvement of our process.

“Our goal at Aglow Cargo is to bridge the gap and proffer solutions to the increased need for air cargo in the logistics value chain in West and Central Africa. We want to be the company of choice for seamless delivery experiences.

“We are confident that our membership with Cargo iQ will equip us with the tools and collaborations we need to achieve our goal.”

The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) is expected to support the growing e-commerce market in Africa.
